Monday, February 24, 2020—Hofstra University Alumnus and Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School Boys Basketball Coach, Cornelius Vines, spoke with Citizenship Academy Atoms about the value of passion and excitement. Cornelius shared his experience of being a professional athlete, and how that impacted his life. Thank you Mr. Vines for being a great influence on our students.
Monday, February 24, 2020—Gabrielle Lloyd, owner of local hair salon Gypsy Glam, came by #SASCCS to speak with our students about the journey of owning and running her own business. Gabrielle spoke to the importance of self-confidence and finding work you love. Our students were able to get a live demonstration of her craft. Thank you, Ms. Lloyd, for inspiring our #SASCAtoms!

Williams shared her journey with Kindergarten Atoms and discussed the importance of staying dedicated through School and College and always having the mindset of #Perseverance. #SASCAtoms were so inspired by her story! Wednesday, February 12, 2020—Syracuse University Law professor. Lavonda Reed, spoke with second-grade #SASCAtoms as part of our #28Speakersin28(29)Days #BlackHistoryMonth Speaking Tour. Reed shared memories of her childhood with our Atoms and imparted the wisdom to never take a moment of time for granted. Jackson highlighted the importance of looking at things from many different perspectives in order to have the best shot (and not just in movies) but in School, College, and life.
