Wednesday, May 14th, 2025: April was a month of excellence for Ms. Moe’s elementary scholars at Citizenship & Science Academy of Syracuse! The Atoms showed outstanding dedication by achieving perfect attendance, a testament to their commitment to learning, responsibility, and academic growth.
Consistent attendance is critical to academic success, especially in a STEM-based environment where hands-on, mind-on learning is key. In Ms. Moe’s classroom, students don’t just sit at desks and absorb information—they actively engage in building, testing, questioning, and exploring.
Every school day offers a new opportunity for growth, collaboration, and discovery. When students are present consistently, they can fully participate in lessons, engage in group activities, and build on knowledge without missing critical steps. Frequent absences can interrupt learning progress, create gaps in understanding, and make it harder for students to catch up.
In a STEM-focused classroom, lessons often build upon one another and involve active, project-based learning; missing even a single day can mean missing a key part of a lab, experiment, or collaborative experience. Perfect attendance reflects a student’s commitment and the support of families and educators working together to prioritize learning.
We’re incredibly proud of our scholars for showing up, staying engaged, and making the most of every opportunity. Let’s keep the momentum going!
